Our Last Day in Hawaii

After a third trip to the swap meet to buy a suitcase to get all our stuff home,
we stopped for the view at the top of the Aloha Tower.

We think this was one of the trees they call walking trees.

We left our flower leis hanging on a tree by the light house.

How did we get all that luggage into that small compact car?!

Our flight home!
Aloha!

The Muddy Hike

We decided to hike through a rain forest full of bamboo to a beautiful waterfall.
Monoa Falls

The night before, it had rained. We hiked through mud with Melissa and Brittney slipping in their flip flops. Brittney broke one of her flip flops and walked the rest of the way bare foot. We were ready for the beach by the time we got back.

We buried Brittney in the sand at the beach.

PCC Part 2

We didn't get to see everything in one day, so we had to go back again.
We spent lots of time in Fiji for Bittney!

Bula vinaka!

After dinner at the PCC, we spent time on the beach along the North Shore. We walked along the beach looking for shells.

Pearl Harbor

After another trip to the swap meet to the Aloha Stadium to get a "one of a kind" glow-in-the-dark gecko for Kyle, we stopped by Pearl Harbor.
All the guide books said to get out there early to get tickets for the ferry out to the monument. After a late night at the PCC, we got a slow start but they still had tickets.

The toilets at Pearl Harbor have a duel flush system; pull lever up for #1 and down for #2. (Just for you, Mom!)

We thought we would do a little shopping in Chinatown and then have Chinese for dinner.

My fun find of a little Chinese robe. Beautiful!

Practicing the hula we learned at the PCC.

Hiking and playing at the Beach

We hiked Diamond Head Crater, all 99 steps up to a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean and Honolulu. The guide book said that the hike was easy enough that even grandma can do it. I think we would all disagree after hiking up and down all those stairs.

What a view!

We were all so hot after hiking Diamond Head that we went swimming at Waikiki Beach. There is a wall that we swam out to and sat on until a wave pushed us off.

Dinner at the Spaghetti Factory with "hot" bread!

Honolulu, Hawaii

We drove down to Vegas to catch our flight to Hawaii. We stopped in St. George to hit the outlet mall and eat at the Pasta Factory. Here we are waiting for our flight to paradise!

We rented a compact car and picked it up at the airport. The guy tried to talk us into a bigger car. We got all our luggage in the trunk and didn't have to make two trips to the condo.

Exploring Waikiki Beach.

The girls found this Hawaiian nativity in a coconut for me. Isn't it cute?!
